Best Blackjack Strategies

If you want to improve your blackjack game, We highly recommend that you follow the best blackjack strategies that we’ll show you.

STRATEGY 1:  KNOW WHEN TO HIT OR STAND

The most common mistake that blackjack players make is not knowing when to hit or stand.

Hitting means taking another card from the dealer while standing means keeping your hand as it is.

There are a few general rules that you can follow:

  • If your hand totals 12 or less, always hit.
  • If your hand totals 13-16 and the dealer has 2-6, hit.
  • If your hand totals 13-16 and the dealer has 7-A, stand.
  • If your hand totals 17 or more, always stand.

STRATEGY 2: ALWAYS SPLIT 8S AND Aces

If you are dealt a pair of 8s or aces, always split them.

This is because splitting these pairs gives you a better chance of getting a blackjack or coming out ahead than playing them as is.

STRATEGY 3: NEVER SPLIT 4s, 5s, or 10s

If you are dealt a pair of 4s, 5s, or 10s, never split them.

This is because your chances of winning are better if you play them as is.

STRATEGY 4: DOUBLE DOWN WHEN YOU HAVE 9, 10, OR 11

If you have a 9, 10, or 11, always double down.

This is because doubling down gives you a better chance of winning than hitting does.

STRATEGY 5: ALWAYS BUY INSURANCE WHEN THE DEALER HAS AN ACE

If the dealer’s up-card is an ace, as is the case in a one-in-three probability of seeing an ace on your opponent’s other card, insurance may appear to be a good idea. However, unless you are a skilled card counter, insurance is likely to be a losing wager, in the long run.

To win your insurance bet, the dealer must have a 10-value card as his hole card. Keep track of how much money is still in the deck and when there are adequate funds to make an insurance call by counting how much money is left in the deck and when there are no more cards in the deck.

This strategy only works if you are playing with a live dealer. If you are playing blackjack online, then this strategy does not work because you cannot see the dealer’s hole card.

STRATEGY 6: NEVER TAKE EVEN MONEY

If you are dealt a blackjack and the dealer has an ace showing, never take even money. This is because taking even money gives the casino a bigger house edge than if you were to just take your winnings.

With these six blackjack strategies, you can improve your game and increase your chances of winning. So make sure to follow them next time you play!

Strategy 7: Don’t SPLIT A PAIR OF 5s OR TENS

A lot of people will tell you to always split a pair of 5s or tens. However, this is not always the best strategy. If the dealer has a 9 or lower showing, then you should hit. If the dealer has a 10 or an ace showing, then you should stand. Only split these pairs if the dealer has a 7 or lower showing.

Strategy 8: Don’t HIT ON SOFT 17

The dealer will usually hit on soft 17, which is a hand that totals 17 but includes an ace that counts as 11. However, this is not always the best strategy. If the dealer has a 9 or lower showing, then you should hit. If the dealer has a 10 or an ace showing, then you should stand. Only hit on soft 17 if the dealer has a 7 or lower showing.

Strategy 9: Don’t PLAY THE 6-5 BLACKJACK PAYOUT

Some casinos offer a 6-5 blackjack payout instead of the standard 3-2 payout. This may seem like a good deal, but it’s actually a bad idea to play at these casinos. The reason is that this payout gives the casino a bigger house edge. So make sure to avoid these casinos if you want to have the best chance of winning.

Strategy 10: Always PLAY AT A FULL TABLE

This may seem like common sense, but a lot of people make the mistake of playing at a table with only a few players. The reason why you want to play at a full table is that it increases your chances of winning. When there are more players at the table, the deck will get shuffled more often, which means that you’ll have a better chance of getting dealt a blackjack.

Strategy 11:  Know When to QUIT

A lot of people make the mistake of playing too long and losing all of their winnings. The best time to quit is when you’re up by about 50%. This way, you’ll walk away with a profit and you won’t have to worry about losing it all back.

Strategy 12: Don’t PLAY A six TO five BLACKJACK GAME

Some casinos offer a six to five blackjack game instead of the standard three to two game. This may seem like a good deal, but it actually gives the casino a bigger house edge. So make sure to avoid these games if you want to have the best chance of winning.

Strategy 13:   If you have a 16, give in and accept the dealer’s offer of 10.

If the table rule is that the dealer must stand on all 17s, this strategy will work. The idea behind this strategy is that you’re giving up your chance of winning in exchange for not losing as much money.

While this strategy may seem counterintuitive, it actually works in the long run.

Strategy 14:   Never take even money when you get blackjack.

If you’re dealt a blackjack and the dealer shows an ace, you’ll be paid 3:2 if the dealer has blackjack. For example, if you wager $10 and take 3:2, you’ll win $15 instead of the regular $10 for a 3:2 payout. If you reject the equal payment and the dealer has blackjack, you’ll push (or tie).

The reason why you should never take even money is that the casino has a big advantage when they offer it. Over time, this will add up and you’ll lose more money than if you had just taken the 3:2 payout.

STRATEGY 15:   If the dealer has a 9 or lower showing, always hit on soft 17.

Only hit on soft 17 if the dealer has a 7 or lower showing. This is because the dealer is more likely to bust when they have a low card showing.

STRATEGY 17:   Avoid insurance

Insurance is a side bet that the dealer has blackjack. It pays 2:1, which means that if you bet $10, you’ll win $20 if the dealer has blackjack.

While this may seem like a good deal, it’s actually a bad bet. The reason is that the dealer only has blackjack about 31% of the time. This means that you’ll lose money in the long run if you take insurance.

STRATEGY 18: Play blackjack games with the best odds

The best way to win at blackjack is to play at a table with the best odds. This means that you should look for tables with the following rules:

  • The dealer must stand on all 17s
  • There is no insurance
  • You can double down on any two cards
  • You can double after splitting
  • You can split pairs
  • You can surrrender

If you can find a table with all of these rules, you’ll have the best chance of winning.

STRATEGY 19:  Use a blackjack strategy chart

If you want to have the best chance of winning, you should use a blackjack strategy chart. This is a chart that tells you what the best move is in every situation.

While it may take some time to memorize the chart, it’s worth it in the long run.

STRATEGY 20:  Practice makes perfect

The best way to win at blackjack is to practice as much as possible. The more you play, the better you’ll become at making the right moves.

There are a few ways to practice blackjack. You can either play for free online or you can use a simulator.

If you want to practice for free, you can do so at any of the online casinos. Just make sure to use play money so that you don’t risk any real money.

If you want to use a simulator, you can find a few different ones online. Some of them are even free to use.

Blackjack is a great game to play if you want to win money. But it’s important to remember that there is no guaranteed way to win. The best way to win is to use a blackjack strategy and practice as much as possible.
